Goals and Values
Goals of Women’s Empowerment Center:
1. Enhancing women’s presence in decision-making positions and leadership roles.
2. Enhancing women’s diverse skills in leadership, professional, social, economic, and health fields, while supporting women with special needs.
3. Supporting and conducting research and studies related to women’s empowerment in all fields.
4. Building effective partnerships with stakeholders concerned with women’s empowerment.
5. Strengthening women’s active participation in sustainable economic and social development projects.
6. Promoting awareness of women’s empowerment and encouraging society to support their participation in all fields.
7. Contributing to building an equitable society by promoting women’s rights and preventing discrimination against them.
8. Promoting a culture of equality between women and men and reducing violence against women.
9. Raising women’s awareness of the importance of political participation and engagement in political parties.
About the Center
The Women Empowerment Center was established by a decision of the Board of Trustees of Isra University in its sixth session of the 2023/2024 academic year, held on April 25, 2024, making it the first center of its kind among Jordanian universities dedicated to women’s empowerment.
The center is a specialized entity that aims to support women’s participation across political, economic, social, and cultural fields. It seeks to enhance the capacities of university female students, staff members, and women from the local community through training, leadership skill-building, and the provision of platforms for dialogue and community engagement—ensuring that women are empowered to reach decision-making positions and contribute effectively to sustainable development. The center also conducts scientific research and designs and implements awareness and training programs in cooperation with national and international institutions.
