Goals of Women’s Empowerment Center:
1. Enhancing the presence of women in decision-making positions, policy-making, and leadership positions.
2. Identifying the challenges that hinder women’s access to leadership positions and empowering women to confront them.
3. Preserving women’s constitutional and legal rights and protecting women from all forms of discrimination.
4. Review Jordanian legislation to identify obstacles to women’s empowerment and ways to develop legal frameworks to enhance their status and ensure their right to equal opportunities.
5. Increasing women’s participation in political life and activating their political role.
6. Enhancing women’s participation in political parties and making them aware of the importance of party affiliation.
7. Promoting women’s active participation in building their society and contributing to social development.
8. Spreading awareness of the importance of empowering women and the various means to build their capabilities.
9. Building women’s capabilities to empower them economically and integrate them into the sustainable development process.
10. Achieving equal opportunities for women in various economic sectors.
11. Building effective partnerships with entities concerned with women’s empowerment.
12. Contributing to the development of research and studies concerned with women’s empowerment in all fields.
The Women’s Empowerment Center was established in accordance with the decision of the Board of Trustees of Isra University in its sixth session of the academic year 2023/2024 on 4/25/2024 to be the first center at the level of Jordanian universities that is concerned with empowering women in all its forms. The center aims to empower women in various leadership and legal fields. political, social, and economic issues by enhancing the presence of women in decision-making positions, policy-making positions, and leadership positions; preserving women’s constitutional and legal rights; protecting women from all forms of discrimination; increasing women’s participation in political and partisan life; enhancing women’s active participation in building their society; and building women’s capabilities to empower them economically. The center also aims to spread awareness of the importance of empowering women and integrating them into the sustainable development process, building effective partnerships with entities concerned with women’s empowerment, and developing research and studies.
