His Excellency Professor Mohammed Hamed, President of the University, received a delegation from the Italian National Research Council. The delegation included Professor Giuseppe Gigli, Professor of Physics at the University of Salento and Director of the Nanotechnology Center; Dr. Tiziana Valerio, Director General of the Apulia Advanced Technology Area; Professor Alessandro Margherita, Associate Professor of Management Engineering at the University of Salento; and Professor Gianluca Elia, Associate Professor of Management Engineering at the University of Salento. The delegation discussed avenues for joint cooperation in academic and research fields.
During the meeting, His Excellency the President of the University presented an overview of the university's history, its establishment, its faculties, specializations, scientific centers, teaching programs, research projects, and the specializations it offers for various academic degrees. The university focuses on opening horizons of knowledge and empowering students in all disciplines.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed potential cooperation in applied programs and scientific research, the exchange of expertise between faculty members and graduate students, and the implementation of joint research projects in the fields of nanotechnology and medical applications.
The visit also included a tour of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and a number of advanced laboratories at the Faculty of Pharmacy, where available capabilities were reviewed and
